Pro Tools 9 Hard Drive Requirements [380567]
What are the hard drive requirements for audio record and playback with Pro Tools 9?
Avid-approved Audio Hard Disk Drives for Pro Tools 9 Systems

The following disk drives have been tested and approved by Avid for use with Pro Tools HD 9.0 and Pro Tools 9.0 as Audio Record and Playback drives. Drive speed of 7200rpm or higher required.

Internal Drives
  • SATA
  • SAS (with HP Z-series computers ONLY)

External Drives( Avastor HDX/SDX or OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro™ drives recommended for best performance )
  • eSATA
  • USB 2.0 (Windows Only)
  • FireWire (Mac Only) with FireWire interface using these chipsets:
    • Oxford 934 - FW 400
    • Oxford 924 - FW 400
    • Oxford 924 - FW 800
    • Oxford 911 - FW 400
    • Oxford 912 - FW 400
    • Oxford 912 - FW 800
Warning:
  • FireWire (1394) connection of audio record/playback drives should not be used on Windows 7 machines.
  • Many of the drive enclosures using the Oxford chipsets listed above include USB and FireWire connections. Please use the USB 2.0 connection for these drives on Windows 7 systems.

Notes:
  • There are no performance guarantees for FireWire drives. Performance will degrade if more than 4 FireWire drives are chained together.
  • Mixing Firewire 800 and 400 drives on the same bus may cause performance issues.
  • For best performance, we suggest that you do not mix record/playback drives of different types. For example, you should not record to an internal SATA drive and an external FireWire drive at the same time.
  • Solid State Drives (SSDs) have not been tested or qualified for use with Pro Tools, either as system or audio drives.

** The late 2008 aluminum "unibody" MacBook models, all newer MacBook models, and all MacBook Air models are equipped with USB ports only. Because recording to the internal drive or USB drives is not recommended, these models are not tested or supported. There is no way to connect a FireWire drive (or FireWire audio interface) to Mac laptops without FireWire ports or ExpressCard slots.
요약하자면 최근의 데스크탑류는 다 되고, 랩탑은 firewire없는 모델은 쓰지 말라는거다. usb오디오 인터페이스나 외장하드에 녹음하는거 바람직하지 않다고. 그러면서 mbox mini는 왜판거냐 개새끼들아...ㅡㅡ . 한마디로 집에서 연습용으로나 쓰란 얘기잖아. ㅎㅎ

Protools HD 8.0 crack과 관련하여..

한번 포스팅을 했더니 파일 달라고 댓글이 여러게 달려서 다 답을 드릴 순 없어서 글 남깁니다.

크랙 파일은 2.8G 정도 됩니다. 따라서 메일로 개별적으로 보내드릴 수 없구요. 죄송하지만 알아서들 구하셔야 할 것 같습니다. 토렌트 파일로 검색하시면 찾는 건 어렵지 않을 것 같네요. 저도 테스트 용도로밖에 사용을 안해봐서 완전한 정상 작동에 대한 보장을 할 수 없고, 크랙을 쓰는 마당에 감수해야할 부분이겠져. 혹시라도 MBox쓰시는 분들은 연동 안 될 수 있으니 잘 알아두시구요. 제 MBox 2 pro는 XVX bridge에서 인식이 되질 않아서 내장 core audio를 기반으로 작동이 되었습니다. 패치들이 여러개 떴던데 잘 안되더군요.

그럼.. 즐음! ㅎ

ProTools Plug-in 인증 방법 (iLok 키를 사용한)

ProTools의 경우 plug-in들의 인증방식은 크게 다음과 같이 나눠볼 수 있다.

1. Methods of the authorization of plug-ins in ProTools
  1. No authorization
    인증이 필요없는 방식이다. 대부분 default plug-ins들에 해당한다.
  2. iLok authorization
    iLok 스마트 키에 인증정보를 저장해서 ProTools를 실행할때마다 불러와서 인증하는 방식이다. 플러그인이 스마트키에 저장되는 것이 아니라는점 유의.
  3. Challenge/Response Authorization
    iLok을 사용하지 않거나 사용할 수 없는 경우에 사용하는 방식이다. 플러그인 회사 자체적으로 인증하는 방식이다.

USB 방식으로 이 인증방식이 필요한 것에는 ProTools HD 7 hardware, ProTools M-Powered, ProTools Academic (for M-Audio interface)의 ProTools 하드웨어나 소프트웨어와 각종 plug-in들이다.
상기의 프로툴 하드웨어와 소프트웨어에는 이미 인증서가 저장된 iLok키가 기본으로 제공되고, 그 외는 인터넷으로 인증번호를 입력하여 iLok.com으로 인증서를 발급받고 그것을 iLok 키로 전송하는 방식을 취한다.

따라서 iLok.com에 회원가입이 필요하고, 가입은 무료다. MBox나 digi002, 003 Factory bundle 같은 경우에는 iLok 인증방식을 요하는 plug-in들이 들어있어서 iLok키가 제공된다. 회원가입하면 iLok 계정이 생기고 플러그인 인증시 계정 정보를 기입하면 내 계정으로 인증서가 발급된다. 로그인 해보면 다음과 같이 발급받은 인증서들이 보이고 사각형 안의 synchronization 버튼을 누르면 iLok키와 동기화 되며 인증서가 iLok smart key로 전송된다.

따라서 컴퓨터를 포맷하는거에 상관없이 내 인증정보를 간편히 보관할 수 있다.

Install ProTools 8 !! (프로툴 8 설치)

드디어 받은 ProTools 8 for Mac 을  UnRARX라는 프로그램을 이용해 압축해제 했다. 다른걸론 안되는데 이걸로 하면 잘 풀린다. 보니 약 5기가 가까이된다. 플러그인들이 많이 보강이 되서 그런걸로 알고있다. 설치방법은 이전 버전이랑 같다.

일단 그래픽 인터페이스 부분부터 맘에 든다. 그리고 괜찮은 플러그인들이 많이 기본적으로 포함됬다고 한다. 얼른 써보면서 익혀야 겠당~ ㅎ 신난다~
